About BeneFitness

BeneFitness is a full-service fitness consulting, gym design, and wellness solutions company founded by Brad Boggs. With roots in personal training and corporate wellness, BeneFitness has evolved into a trusted partner for gym design, fitness equipment procurement, flooring solutions, and long-term operational support for clients across Oregon, Washington, and nationwide.

At its core, BeneFitness exists to help organizations create high-performing fitness environments that are functional, durable, and genuinely engaging for the people who use them. From apartment and multifamily fitness centers to performance training facilities, corporate gyms, and institutional environments, our work is guided by a deep understanding of how fitness spaces are actually used — not just how they look on paper.

Brad has worked on projects ranging from 500 square feet multi-family housing gym spaces to 20,000+ square feet state-of-the-art wellness facilities.

Founder & Principal — Brad Boggs

Brad Boggs’ background in fitness, athletics, and gym environments began long before his professional career. He was raised in a family deeply rooted in athletics, physical education, and school-based fitness facilities, which shaped his understanding of how training environments support performance, safety, and long-term development.

Brad’s father, Gary Boggs, served for 36 years as a high school football and strength coach at Fort Vancouver High School, working daily in weight rooms, training spaces, and athletic facilities. His mother spent more than 30 years with the school district as Head of the Health Department, as well as serving in roles supporting athletic directors and district-wide athletic facilities. Both parents dedicated their careers to education, athletics, and student development before retiring after decades of service for the Vancouver School District.

Growing up around gyms, weight rooms, locker rooms, and athletic facilities gave Brad early exposure to how these spaces function — and where they succeed or fall short. That foundation continues to influence his approach to gym design, fitness facility planning, equipment selection, and long-term durability.

Brad’s professional journey formally began in 2001 as a nationally certified personal trainer, following a collegiate football career where he was a four-year starter and team captain. That experience reinforced the leadership, discipline, and teamwork that guide his work today.

Brad attended Lewis & Clark College and Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, earning a degree in Health and Physical Education. Early in his career, he combined hands-on personal training with a growing focus on gym design consulting, fitness equipment planning, and operational efficiency — a blend that remains central to BeneFitness’ approach.

Brad is a nationally certified personal trainer and has worked in the fitness and performance training field since 2001. In addition to his core certifications, he has earned advanced credentials in TRX training, corrective exercise, and sport-specific performance training, allowing him to support a wide range of clients — from general fitness participants to high-level performers.

Now in his 20+ year as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, and his 17th year as a business owner, Brad has built a career rooted in results, trust, and long-term client relationships. His performance training background includes working with professional athletes, executives, and high-profile clients, as well as individuals seeking structured, sustainable approaches to strength, movement, and overall health.

Over the years, Brad’s client list has included the actress Amanda Seyfried, multiple cast members from the television series “Grimm” and “The Librarians,” along with CEOs, U.S. ambassadors, and business leaders. This diverse experience informs BeneFitness’ approach to performance-focused gym design, equipment selection, and training environments that support users at every level.

Brad’s hands-on experience inside gyms — coaching, training, and managing performance spaces — continues to shape how BeneFitness designs fitness facilities today, ensuring each space supports real training demands, movement quality, and long-term durability.

 The Founding of BeneFitness

BeneFitness was founded in 2009 in Portland, Oregon, initially focusing on personal training, gym equipment sales, and corporate wellness programming. Early partnerships with developers and organizations throughout the Portland metro area helped shape BeneFitness into a company grounded in practical solutions, long-term thinking, and real-world performance.

As BeneFitness grew, clients increasingly sought guidance beyond programming, requesting support with gym design, fitness center layout, equipment procurement, flooring selection, and long-term planning. This natural evolution expanded BeneFitness into a comprehensive fitness consulting and gym design firm, while maintaining a hands-on, relationship-driven approach.

Knot Springs

Knot Springs — A Defining Chapter

One of the most formative projects in BeneFitness’ history was Knot Springs, a premier social wellness club, gym, and spa located in Portland’s Yard Building.

In 2012, Brad Boggs and business partner Gina Neal developed the original concept for Knot Springs — a multi-level wellness destination designed to integrate fitness, recovery, spa services, and community. The project was brought to life in partnership with Key Development, Skylab Architecture, and Anderson Construction.

BeneFitness initially served as a consultant during the design and pre-opening phase, contributing to space planning, programming strategy, and operational development. As the project moved forward, BeneFitness was formally named the operator of Knot Springs, leading the full launch and ongoing management of the club.

From opening through 2019, BeneFitness — led by Brad Boggs and Gina Neal — managed all aspects of operations, including fitness, spa services, staffing, and guest experience. At its peak, the organization oversaw a team of 78+ employees, delivering a consistent, high-end member experience across three levels of the facility.

Following the impacts of COVID-19, BeneFitness and Knot Springs mutually agreed to part ways as the club shifted its business focus. The experience remains a cornerstone of BeneFitness’ operational expertise and continues to inform how we approach large-scale, premium fitness and wellness environments today.

Every Project, Big or Small

At BeneFitness, no project is too small or too large to receive the same level of care, expertise, and attention to detail. We regularly support everything from single-room apartment gym upgrades to large-scale commercial and institutional fitness facilities.

BeneFitness was built on long-term relationships, not transactions. Many of our clients return to us repeatedly as their portfolios grow, their buildings expand, or their fitness needs evolve. Whether consulting on a focused equipment refresh or leading a full gym design and buildout, our approach remains consistent: listen first, design intentionally, and deliver solutions that stand the test of time.

Beyond the Work

Brad’s wife, Kori, is actively involved in the business, teaching fitness classes and supporting wellness programming. Kori is a former professional chef and personal trainer with over 10 years of experience, bringing a unique perspective that blends movement, nutrition, and sustainable healthy living.

Together, Brad and Kori are raising their three daughters, and family life plays a central role in how BeneFitness operates. We live and breathe what we do, staying active, training consistently, prioritizing recovery, and maintaining a strong focus on nutrition and overall health.

That personal commitment directly informs how we design fitness spaces and wellness programs for others. BeneFitness isn’t just a business — it’s a reflection of how we live, work, and support long-term health through thoughtful gym design, functional equipment selection, and environments that encourage movement as part of everyday life.
